Medical Advice
If your child is away from school for any reason, please telephone the school as soon as possible. Any absence not explained is recorded as ‘unauthorised’.
Registers are completed as soon as the children come into school and any child not present when the register is returned to the school office will be marked absent.
If children arrive late they need to go to the school office to let the office staff know they have arrived. Their absent mark will then be changed to a late mark.
First aid in school
We have a number of staff qualified to undertake first aid. Where you child has been treated by a first aider for any cut, graze, bump or bruise, you will receive an email from the school office.
Where children have bumped their head and there is a visible mark or swelling, parents may be telephoned and/or sent a text message with advice given on follow-up treatment.
Where a child requires emergency treatment, this will be sought by the staff ‘in loco parentis’ and parents will be contacted.
Medicines in School
In order that your child receives the correct treatment we ask that medicines that need administering during the school day be kept to a minimum.
You are most welcome to come into school and administer yourself, but the school does need to be fully aware of the arrangements made.
Special arrangements are made for children with asthma. Prescribed medicines only can be administered by the school office the relevant form must be completed and signed at the office.
